The Legacy of Larry Cohen
A tribute to our founder and the heart behind the firm.
Our law firm was founded in 1972 by Lawrence P. Cohen, whose reputation for integrity, fairness and deep industry knowledge helped lay the foundation for what the firm is today. Larry believed in doing right by people—clients, colleagues and the greater community. That mindset still drives everything we do.
Today, his son Neil S. Cohen proudly leads the firm, carrying on his father’s legacy with the same dedication to service, relationships and results.
In honor of Larry’s memory, Neil established a charitable foundation in his name to support scholarships and community initiatives that reflect the values he championed: education, opportunity and giving back.
Larry’s impact wasn’t just in how he practiced law—it was in how he lived, mentored and led. And we carry that spirit with us every day.

Lawrence P. Cohen Memorial Scholarship
Established by Neil in honor of his late father and founder of Barsh and Cohen, P.C., the Lawrence P. Cohen Memorial Scholarship was created to support outstanding students in pursuing their dream of a college education.
Those who knew Larry understood his deep belief in achievement through hard work and perseverance. He was especially passionate about encouraging young adults to succeed while overcoming adversity. In keeping with those values, scholarship recipients are selected not only for their academic accomplishments but also for the resilience, determination and character they demonstrate in facing life’s challenges.
This scholarship serves as a lasting tribute to the principles Larry Cohen held dear and the legacy his family is proud to continue.
